In January of 2008, The Salvation Army Area Command of St. Petersburg, Florida took proactive steps towards the establishment of a new and innovative church that would meet the needs of those in its community. The mission of this Corps is simple: to see the broken repaired, the hurting healed, and the desperate enjoying hope.

At the 2008 Territorial Congress, in front of 8000 people, The Salvation Army officially recognized this idea and presented it with a Salvation Army Flag and Corps status within the Southern Territory.
